JB Sod & Land Management had this to say about their Hydra Bucket:

“Sod preparation. People have all diseased yards, crabgrass, bad grades, drainage problems. I was just like everyone else. Just throw a bucket on. Scrape everything out. Put new dirt in. Level it off. Call it a day.

Then I went to the G&M guys’ shop, and Jamison introduced me to the Hydra Bucket. I went to Lano the same day, picked one up, and now we don’t even need to scrape. You just pulverize everything right up. It throws everything on level. If you want to take that top fluffy layer off, you can. Otherwise, we just rake it out sometimes. Keep all that good soil in there, all that old grass, nitrogen, water, everything you need. They just pump it right back in the soil with the carbides in the back and you’re good to go.

You run the bucket level, it throws everything on grade and it’s paid for itself so many times because it takes a shovel out of guys’ hands. You make one pass. You hit it with the carbide drum in the back and then on the way back hit it with the cutting edge and it’s ready to go. You prep an area for a yard, you throw a sod pallet back there, and I keep moving, and my guys are working. And, you know, 15 minutes. So, yeah, it really changed everything for how we do sod preparations and how I’m planning to scale the company. It’s a massive, massive part of it.”
